1/ Write a post. Tap the paintbrush. Watch your words become an illustration or short film without leaving the conversation.

We built one-tap Illustrate and Film for Treechat. 🎨🎬

2/ Generating AI media often breaks the social moment.

You leave the thread, choose a model, rebuild your idea as a prompt, organize the inputs, generate the file, then return and upload it.

By then, the conversation has moved on.

3/ We wanted the idea and its visual expression to stay together.

If a reply makes you picture a strange city, a character, a joke, or a dramatic scene, you should be able to make it right there—while the context is still alive.

4/ Now you can write a post, attach images or other references, open the paintbrush menu, and choose Illustrate or Film.

Treechat captures the post and its media, then gives the AI the creative job.

5/ The AI reads what you wrote, studies the inputs, plans the creative direction, and generates the result.

Illustrate produces an image through NB. Film produces a short video through Seedance 2.0.

6/ You do not need to write a second technical prompt or manage a panel full of model controls.

The post remains the instruction. Your references remain attached to the idea. The generated media returns to the same thread.

7/ Underneath, Illustrate and Film are now first-class AI actions: !illustrate and !film.

You can select them from the paintbrush menu or the AI Actions dropdown. Treechat handles prompt planning and dispatch after you post.

8/ That changes the role of AI in a thread.

It can research an idea, debate it, and now give the conversation a visual form before the spark disappears. People can reply to that result, branch from it, refine it, or take the scene somewhere unexpected.

9/ The important distance is measured in interruptions.

Every model picker, copied prompt, exported file, and context switch separates the first impulse from the thing you wanted to make. One tap removes most of that distance.

10/ PR #2806 removed the old per-user control gate, and PR #2822 added the first-class Illustrate and Film actions.

Both are merged. Availability may still roll out in stages.

11/ Social media gets more alive when AI creation happens inside the exchange that inspired it.

Write the thought. Add the reference. Tap the paintbrush. Let the thread grow pictures and films.
