God isn’t good.
God isn’t good. He’s great.
I’ve had a very difficult year. A lot went wrong. I lost a lot, but I gained a lot as well.
I gained perspective and strength. I gained the company of true friends, and freedom from ones who weren’t. I gained a partner in life whom I love dearly. Most importantly, I gained faith.
I prayed. God listened and answered — whether I liked the answer or not.
I asked God to not let me be alone. He held my hand and walked beside me.
I asked God to help me not be afraid. He taught me how to move forward DESPITE the fear.
I asked God for a lot of things I didn’t get. He gave me things worth so much more.
This year felt like a chess game, and my entire life was under attack, but He protected me every step of the way.
I thought I was losing bishops or knights when I was actually losing pawns.
There were situations I couldn’t see any way out of, but God was ten moves ahead.
While I focused on everything being taken from me, God was protecting the pieces that mattered the most.
I thought I was losing. He was positioning me.
I thought I was cornered. He was making a way out.
I thought it was over. He was preparing me for a new beginning.
God didn’t need me to understand His strategy. He only needed me to trust Him, because He was guiding me toward checkmate before I even realized I was playing chess.
So yes, this year was pretty freakin’ hard but I would do it all over again (hopefully not though, ngl 😂😭) because this time I’ll KNOW that God’s got my back.
I love You, God. Thank You for being a far better Father to me than I have been a child to You. 🤍
