This is my first post on Twetch. I don’t know how many I will be posting as I am not familiar with the aims and purpose of the platform but I arrived here because Sir Toshi @1208 mentioned it it this YouTube video [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3W4Fd6eeco ]and collectively, the speakers piqued my interest in an alternative mechanism of monetary exchange outside the traditional banking system - one more aligned to ordinary people’s interests than the transnational cabal known as “The Banksters”.

I also watched this video [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y0kaV5HDLg ] which provided a crash course in how to get setup with cryptocurrency via an exchange and digital wallet. It was just enough to hook me and I’ve now made my very first transactions. I hope others will follow me and road test it as I am doing. My purpose id to get more familiar with the system in a low risk mode. At this stage I’m just getting setup and immersing myself into a different tribe of like-minded people. I’m not looking to invest for financial gain just now - that may/may not come - my interests are similar to Neil Oliver’s @ 219047 and I’d like to support a system that returns sovereignty and agency to good people.

Getting started was straight forward enough however it did get a tad confusing and I learned a few extra things along the way which I would like to share here for all the other newbies that are just behind me.

Here is the post I put in the comments of the video with Gary-peter @218689 . I was/am very grateful to him for putting the tutorial together. The unfortunate effect of someone who is clearly steeped in all aspects of crypto, and having had to re-record the video numerous times as the original versions magically disappeared (!?), is that some technical terms and assumed knowledge has crept in. Therefore my purpose is to (a) be a guinea-pig and help others who are complete novices and (b) enhance the original material to help achieve the original goal.

Here are the comments I made (aimed at people who watched the video and in need of a simple overview and practical tips).

In simple summary, here are the pieces and the process flow likened to something more traditional:

Banking analogy Think of it like this:

The process flow is:

  1. Open/create an account at the exchange (Coinbase or Kraken)
  2. Put in pounds and buy USDC
  3. Move that USDC into your wallet (Exodus),
  4. Swap USDC for BSV (inside Exodus).

Simple step-by-step

  1. Open an exchange account:
Use an exchange like Kraken or Coinbase, and complete identity checks just like opening a bank account.
  2. Add money from your bank: Transfer pounds into the exchange by bank transfer or card, the same way you would fund a payment account. * PLEASE NOTE - I am in the UK and had to wait 24 hours before I was allowed to add funds.
  3. Buy USDC first: In the video, USDC is the “bridge” currency, like buying euros before sending euros abroad.
  4. Set up Exodus: Install Exodus on your computer and make it secure with a strong password and backup details.
  5. Move USDC into Exodus:
Withdraw your USDC from the exchange into your Exodus wallet address, like moving money from a bank account into your own wallet.
  6. Swap USDC for BSV in Exodus:
Use the swap function inside Exodus to convert the USDC into BSV. * PLEASE NOTE - if you follow the example here you'll need some coinage (Ethereum) in your wallet to enable the swap - this is the currency needed as a transaction fee as mentioned at approx 14:20.
  7. Send BSV to someone else: Enter the other person’s BSV address, choose the amount, and confirm the payment, just like sending money to an account number.

On Sept 3rd 2026, I have successfully completed this process and purchased my first round of BSV. It took a couple of hours to get my head around the process (I took my time and employed an AI) - after setting up the accounts, a further 24 hours elapsed until I could purchase USDC - another 10 mins to figure out why I could not do the swap (I needed to get some ETH for the miners fee). At this immediate point, I have converted £120 and have a portfolio (BSV + ETH) worth £112.93 (it is edging up by pennies as I type).

I hope this helps - I am a newbie here too so learning whilst doing.
