Meme Library is a genius idea…

Preserving all of internet history in a publicly owned archive that’s easily accessible for everyone to view and download is a monumental task. It will take a lot of us to keep adding to this archive to make it become relevant and unstoppable.

Giving people who contributed the right to earn some income for usage specifically on Twetch Platform is a great incentive and added bonus to recoup the cost of uploading them on chain.

Personally, I’m aiming to upload at least 1,000 of the dankest memes hoping one day when user numbers grow, they will make me $1 each per day.

Twetch will possibly slowly opening up contributor access to more users, most likely start with Twetch Green Subscribers, as an official premium feature, which is accessible to everyone but still gated.

Opening up Memes Marketplace was a risky move, since the incentive then becomes who can get in early and start selling their memes, which could be original creations or borrowed from public domain or AI Slops, and the users can’t really tell them apart.

What’s also not clearly stated, was what is actually being traded in the memes market, not ownership, not exclusive copyrights, actually only the rights to earn fees from usage. And that’s where people get confused, they thought they are buying something entirely different.

Disabling Memes as PFP is the right choice to differentiate the memes from other official curated PFP collections.

Trading them won't be necessary for people to have incentive to upload DANK memes... if they want to transfer the rights to earn fees to someone else, let them do it OTC, with their own terms and liabilities. This removes Twetch from the transaction to avoid any legal issues in the future.

One great benefit of becoming a meme contributor, if you upload the memes you actually want to use, then you don't have to pay for it in the future, this becoming an official Perk for Green Users will definitely make subscription more appealing.

If trading is closed, then you are only competing for more usage, which means proper tags and descriptions, also just DANK memes. When daily usage grow, this can really become a significant income stream.
