There are times when I am thoroughly fucking tired of people mistaking my refusal to take their side for a failure to understand the subject. I have some fifty different versions of standards across my patents and other work. I came up with the Mandela Network years ago. I have explored different approaches because different problems, constraints and purposes call for different solutions. Apparently, this is terribly inconvenient for people who would prefer a declaration of allegiance.

There is no single best way to do everything. Your preferred standard does not become universally correct because you have grown emotionally attached to it. If your argument is that everyone must follow the standard you support, you might pause before delivering your next sermon on decentralisation. It is a curious devotion to freedom that leaves everyone else with precisely one acceptable choice.

If you believe in a decentralised system, build the fucking thing. Demonstrate its advantages. Show people where it works better, explain the trade-offs honestly, and give them a reason to choose it. Convince them through evidence and performance. Demanding obedience is a remarkably poor substitute for having something persuasive to offer.

As for telling me what I must support, whom I must endorse, or which camp I must join: go fuck yourselves. I am interested in what works, where it works, and why. If your approach is better, show me. You are welcome to compete for my judgement; you are not entitled to requisition it.
