My weekly GrokBot BSV brief:
My weekly GrokBot BSV brief:
Across every exchange, only about $240k of buy orders sit within 2% of the current price, so selling more than roughly $200–250k at once would push the price down more than that. About 60% of the reported trading volume also looks fake. BSV fell 8% this week while Bitcoin fell 2%, so most of that drop was specific to BSV.
The other points worth knowing:
Teranode had no new release this week, and only about 1% of blocks were tagged as coming from it. Fees across the whole network came to only about $12 a day, so miners are living almost entirely on new-coin rewards. The film's official synopsis is sympathetic to Craig Wright, not critical. It still has no US distributor or trailer.
- Teranode
No new release this week. v0.16.0 (Oct 5) is still the latest (releases). 61 changes landed this week, mostly fixes, and 41 of them came from one developer, so a lot depends on one person. There are 181 open issues. Confirmed, low impact. On the main network, Teranode runs alongside the old SV Node software. There's no date to switch fully. Credible, medium impact. The "1M transactions per second" claim is from a 2025 test, reshared this week as if it were new. The real main network handled about 3.4 per second. Noise.
- Mining and node economics
Revenue. About 439 BSV a day in new coins, roughly $7,770 a day. Fees were only 4.6 BSV for the whole week, about $12 a day, or 0.15% of miner revenue. Confirmed, medium impact.
Computing power is about 230 PH/s. Mining BSV pays about $34 per PH a day versus $36 for Bitcoin, so most of these miners would switch to Bitcoin if BSV paid less. That's an estimate. Mining pools. Kryptex mined 26% of blocks, up from 1–5% in July, and the top three pools found 52%. Confirmed, medium impact. Security. BSV's computing power is about 0.02% of Bitcoin's, so renting enough to overpower the network is cheap. This happened in 2021 (CoinDesk). Medium impact.
Node costs. A Teranode node needs 128–256 GB of RAM and 1–2 TB of fast storage ( docs). The whole network's fees come to about what renting one such server costs, so running a node only makes sense for miners earning new coins or businesses that need their own node.
- Adoption
This week brought small community apps, like a LoRa radio payment, a Twetch beta, and a $179 hardware wallet (bitcoinsv.it). None of it is business adoption at scale. Low impact. The BSV Association's site claims the network handles "2,800 transactions per second," reality was 3.4 tps. That's spin.
- Price and liquidity
Price. $17.70: down 8.2% over 7 days, down 17.7% over a year, and 96.4% below the all-time high (CoinGecko).
Buy orders within 2% of the price:
KuCoin, $32.5k Bitget, $25.8k Gate, $21.4k MEXC, $21.4k Upbit, about $19.5k Bithumb, $6.2k HTX, $1.4k That totals about $240k across all exchanges. High impact for an exit.
- Exchange risk
No new BSV delistings this week, and Upbit shows no warning flags on BSV. On Oct 13, South Korea blocked 27 offshore exchanges, including KuCoin and MEXC (CoinDesk). That leaves Koreans fewer places to trade BSV. Delistings so far: Binance in 2019, OKX in 2025, and Bitrue, BitTrade Japan, and HTX futures in 2026. The number of places to trade keeps shrinking. 6. Legal
No new court rulings. Three Wright stories that went around this week were old ones reposted. Dec 20–21. Wright's suspended prison sentence ends (order). There's still no charging decision on the 2024 referral for lying to the court. BSV investors' case against Binance, Kraken, and others over the 2019 delistings. The tribunal hasn't ruled yet on whether the case can continue in its reduced form (CAT). China. A Tianjin court is hearing a bid to seize 72,746 BSV linked to fraudster Qian Zhimin (Yicai). That's about 5 times all the buy orders within 2% of the price, though there's no sign of a sale soon. Worth watching.
- On-chain
About 290k transactions a day. One block held 35% of them, and a sample of that block looked like automated memecoin and app traffic, not people paying each other. I found no large holders moving coins to exchanges.
- Film
No US distributor, trailer, or release date yet. International deals were struck at Cannes (Deadline), and a finished cut is plausible around November. The official synopsis casts the coalition that sued Wright as trying "to destroy one man" (TheWrap). Barely anyone is talking about it on X, with about 6 posts all week. Hype to ignore: an X post claiming a price of $41–44 because a "Teranode hard fork" is near. Teranode is new node software, not a hard fork.
Next week, watch for:
a distributor deal at the American Film Market the tribunal's ruling on the investors' case any date for switching to Teranode whether Kryptex's share keeps growing Dec 20, when Wright's sentence ends Not financial advice.
